We will carry out a 5 step check on your fire doors
1 - Certification
Every fire door should have proof of performance. Check for a label or plug on the door, this proves it’s a certified fire door.
2 - Seals & Gaps
Check gaps around the door and frame. They should be no more than 4mm. Seals must be continuous and undamaged.
3 - Closers
Every door must be fitted with a working self-closing device. Test by opening the door halfway and letting go: it should close fully onto the latch without sticking.
4 - Operation
The door must operate correctly and close snugly against the frame. Check for warping, damage, obstructions or modifications that affect performance.
5 - Apertures
Fire doors must not be altered with unauthorised apertures (e.g. windows, letterboxes or grilles) – only tested and certified hardware should be fitted.
